About the Image(s)

Well before the pandemic was a thing, we traveled through South America. This image was taken in a park in Peru. The people took any advantage to make money and the lady on the right was selling seed for the children to feed the birds with. I would be interested in your comments.

Very sharp image. Good cropping, nice colors, and good subject. When I first saw the image it said "South America". I know you didn't, but it looks like you told each person exactly what to do. That is why good street photography is so hard to do. Good Image.

Hi Don. Thanks for your comments. I like the way the people in the image all seem to have their won agendas.   Posted: 10/26/2021 00:28:59

Julie, what an evocative picture!
Their faces tell so many stories.I especially love the two children in the middle who look longingly at the seed packets while their mother digs for change.
Excellent job with the cropping.
The birds feel a little overexposed. Maybe a little more slider work in camera raw to reduce brightness or whites.
Great picture!

Hi Alison, Thank you. Yes, I agree that the birds need a little work. I like the way that each group doesn't seem to see the other groups of people.   Posted: 10/26/2021 00:30:26

Nice capture. My feeling is this a picture in two parts with the couple on the left separate to the 4 figures on the right. So maybe improved by cropping the left 2 out and also losing the notice right at the top which tends to catch the eye too much.   Posted: 10/12/2021 10:39:11

Love the colors and story. I like Andrew's idea of cropping out the two people on the left. The story is in the middle.   Posted: 10/12/2021 12:47:44

Love this image. Reminds me of my childhood in New York City, where we often had pigeons visiting us either on the sidewalk and often in the park. To our parents they were a nuisance. Beautiful image.   Posted: 10/17/2021 13:16:55

Hi Bev, It's funny how children world wide like to feed the birds. As children we often went to a pond to feed the ducks. We don't have masses of pigeons here in Adelaide (Australia)   Posted: 10/26/2021 00:33:20

Julie, your sharpening and increasing contrast really make this pop. You could crop out some of the pigeons on the bottom but that is a minor suggestion. Great iconic capture of Peru and South America.

Andrew has a good suggestion but on the other hand leaving the mother and boy in does impart the feeling of South America.   Posted: 10/18/2021 09:41:50

Hi Henry, Thanks for your comments. I will have a play with this image, taking all comments into consideration. We really enjoyed Peru and it's people.   Posted: 10/26/2021 00:34:53
