Hey Catherine, I hope you are feeling well. I applaude you for wanting to capture old treasures that may not be around in the future. I think the tendency is to make the image black and white to capture the contrast and all the tones that old wood and peeled paint offer, but I decided to just punch some things up and then I added a vignette and a filter (LUT) to look like old film styles. I really wanted to feel the wear this old building has endured. I like that you can see the trees through the window. Nice job of capturing time.   Posted: 10/07/2024 03:32:25

Catherine, as always, you have a masterful eye catching the feeling of what you see. I look at this and think back to a family having a wonderful time living here and experiencing all the adventures of a lifetime. That time is now past but the memories live on.

Don, the master of post processing, has accentuated the feeling of a passage of time.   Posted: 10/13/2024 16:14:17

Yes great to photograph this before it disappears. Good detail, I like the broken glass and the view beyond. I think Don's treatment is better although I miss losing the two posts.   Posted: 10/15/2024 11:07:04

Hi, Catherine,
I have been debating whether to remove the posts. I like the woods of the posts and the completeness of an old house. I think your color treatment is just right; showing the ages.
I agree with Henry; you have a knack of catching something special. Thanks for sharing.   Posted: 10/15/2024 22:16:50

Hi Catherine, I hope you're feeling better! Very cool house! You might want to straighten a little more if you can - the door is a little slanted. I like the contrast of the green roof with the yellow paint. I might have liked to see a tiny bit more of the green roof. The window is great, and you managed to keep your reflection out of it. Maybe lighten the lamp area just a tiny bit? I love the peeling paint and the window, and how the 2 posts are perfectly centered. Well done!   Posted: 10/17/2024 15:11:38

Hi Catherine, I think the only change I would make is to straighten the photo by dropping the left side a tiny bit. I love the colours as it helps to show the history of the house. The posts are also an important part of recording this house. Another photo taken well by you.   Posted: 10/31/2024 01:42:38
