About the Image(s)

I was walking around the University of Washington campus and went into the main library where I took this shot of the library with my new iPhone 12 Pro Max, the first smartphone I have owned (I loved my old flip phone!)

The technical information doesn't mean much to me as everything was decided by the phone. The shutter speed was 1/85.

I transferred the file to Photoshop on my computer and cropped it. Then I opened it in SEP3 and converted it to B+W. I made some radical changes in the contrast and structure until I got what I was looking for.

The composition and subject are great. Good choice to crop out the partial person far left and the two people sitting third table left is an added bonus.

For me I don't think the radical changes worked. The image has harsh details and what looks like excessive noise. The smaller version works better than when I enlarge it. If this is the effect you were looking for, it worked, just not my style.   Posted: 10/05/2021 11:05:36

The image as an image has impact and is a fabulous building, I agree those two people on the left are so important and add wonderful scale.
Your treatment and conversion is to harsh and destructive for this image and for me is over powering the how thing. More subtle conversion with the detail would be superb for this building.   Posted: 10/15/2021 08:00:04

Really like the composition.
However, I think is too much cropped, on the left the chair is cut off, on the right, a part of the chair legs are also cut off.
I you found was you were looking for, it is ok. Personally, i find the treatment too excessive, specially the central path.   Posted: 10/25/2021 08:18:54
