About the Image(s)

Samsung A52 Focal Length 1.74mm ISO320 1/30 F22 Handheld.

Have put this in as this was taken on my mobile phone, spent the weekend with my youngest daughter, so popped over to Salisbury Cathedral as it is one I have never been to. But it is one you are not allowed to use tripods in so left my camera behind and used the mobile. The quality is not as high quality as the camera and I would have been able to get a wider shot with the camera. But this is taken with me lying on the floor and looking straight up. I am lying in the middle of the quire so was getting some funny looks but do this at most Cathedrals. I know I should straighten it out, but it would ruined the composition so I left it. Quite impressed with the quality. Also the daughter was in a good mood so the weekend was quite pleasant.

Very cool, it looks like I am laying on the floor myself as the DOF is very strong. Great details, lighting and tones throughout.

There is just a slight tilt on the left and right sides, that's me being picky.   Posted: 10/01/2021 16:36:30

Interesting one Paul. I believe a symmetrical subject should have accuracy as the geometry is being emphasized along with the design aspects. I think that is easily correctable. The tones and the view is remarkable. You have mentioned the challenges of taking this image and I think you did very well to capture the essence of the view.   Posted: 10/02/2021 12:00:47

Love the shot Paul. I would not apologize for using a cell phone. You need a newer iPhone with a 13mm like Super wide. So glad you could get up again after laying on that hard floor. If you want your big boy large camera effects, use Topaz Studio 2 and the inter tools to take out the grain etc.

I love the photo. Jerry   Posted: 10/03/2021 09:23:42

I really like this kind of images in general, and this one in particular. Good job with the circumstances to take the photo.
I would try to increase the symmetry of the picture, as this "important" in this kind of image, if you wish to have one.
Beautiful tone of grey.   Posted: 10/25/2021 07:58:05
