About the Image(s)
I took this during a photo walk through San Francisco sponsored by our local camera store. I was using the Nikon Z9 with the Tamron 18-400 lens, ISO 125, 18mm, f/10, 1/250 sec. I edited the color version in camera raw/photoshop and converted to black and white using Silver Efex Pro. I look forward to your comments.

Nice Croping. The closer up B/W version really show more interesting details. I like the one point perspective leading to that tall pointed building or church?   Posted: 10/04/2024 16:13:27

Thank you, Jerry. That is the Transamerica building in San Francisco. I am out on the pier looking back to the city.   Posted: 10/19/2024 21:51:17

A great subject and composition for B&W. Strong details and contrast make it pop. The shadows of the benches are a strong component. The Transamerica building is placed well in the composition and works to pull the viewer in.
It may be a bit too dark.   Posted: 10/08/2024 17:05:41

This does make for a fine monochrome image, the depth of tone and length is great. The detail in those boards are lovely. Who on the planning council gave permission for that white building on the right, it does not fit the rest of the architecture. Also those two shadows break the line for me. I do think it is cleaner without them. Strong image.   Posted: 10/14/2024 13:40:21

Strong composition with the lines leading to the center. I agree with how Paul took out the light building on the right. I might lighten the center more so that the leading lines stand out more. And I am not sure the person in the mask on the left adds to the story.   Posted: 10/14/2024 15:33:46

The colors has a path, a way to the building at the end. I like it.
However the B&W version is much stronger. Good choice of the square format. I really like it. I like the balance between the building at the end and the luminaire (light fixture) on the right, next to the banks, the only one with the "bulb in the sky", which makes it more visible.
Good idea to remove the 2 shadows on the left. The white building on the right draws the attention, indeed.   Posted: 10/16/2024 07:51:17

I love this image and the leading lines. The center is somewhat dark and I think it would be an even stronger image if the buildings in the distance were lighter. Maybe just bring up the shadows locally? Nice image.   Posted: 10/16/2024 20:41:30
