I think this is a good street capture with great detail. I tried cropping, using the blur and burn tools on the background and hue/saturation to tone down the red in the skin tones.   Posted: 09/10/2021 22:15:12

I think you've chosen an appropriate image for this month. It is very emotional and tells the story well. To me the focus should be on the facial expressions. The faces tell, or hint, at the story. Your technique captured a properly focused image that was properly exposed. I tend to try to follow a particular rule when composing or cropping: Take out anything that does NOT contribute to the story or is distracting. I know that is not always possible. Since I think the faces tell the story I've severely cropped out a lot of your image. I think you've done a great job capturing the moment. This is just my take and we all know we all have a different take. Great job being there and being prepared.   Posted: 09/12/2021 15:18:20

I like what Kurtis has done. There are many effective approaches that work. The challenge it to find your sweet spot.   Posted: 09/14/2021 21:41:13

Sylvia, this is a good shot. Its great that you had your camera handy. Looks to me like your original had all the right tones and I don't think you needed any red to be added. I do like what Art did but Kurtis' crop really says it all to me. Again I think he used your original therefore no cleaning up of the background was necessary. Their faces show the fear of the moment and that really makes the shot.   Posted: 09/21/2021 19:07:33
