About the Image(s)

Traveling in Southern California, at the gas station, we run into this beautiful ⬓old lady.⬠I thought it was a good opportunity for a ⬓street⬠image. The fellow was gentle and happy I took an image of him and his ⬓old beauty.⬠Certainly not an optimal occasion. The contrast between the shady gas station and the ⬓hot⬠sun of the California desert certainly was not the best combination for a shooting photo occasion. But here we are. I can put this image in my gallery of rare images with a few PP adjustments. Camera Leica V5 lens G Vario-Elmarit 1:2.8 - 4.0; 9.1-146, 20-400 mm. Post-Process Ps+Lr/classic.

I like this story of the interaction of the past and the present. I think that a tighter crop, increasing the contrast and toning down some of the highlights could give it more impact.   Posted: 10/03/2024 01:59:22

Hi Gabriele. Nice "street" shot. Arts editing is very good. He tones it down perfectly.

It is an interesting photograph Gabriele. An environmental photograph as well. Car and gas station match pretty well. I think you were lucky with the colors Blue and Green. That makes a good picture. Completely agree with Art about the cropping.
Which part of South California where were you visiting? Our daughter lives in Palm Desert close to Palm Springs. the mountains remind me her place.   Posted: 10/20/2024 14:59:18

Regine, we were visiting some friends in S.Diego and we decided to take a ride to Joshua Park. We never had a chance to visit the Park, very interesting and had lots of photo opportunities.   Posted: 10/25/2024 19:55:46

Hi, Gabrielle, I really like this picture. You certainly were at the right place at the right time and took advantage of a great opportunity. The fellow walking by the car adds to the story. I like the way Art dodged and burned areas to lead the eye more to the car, man and background. A great picture!   Posted: 10/27/2024 19:39:53
