Crazy Eyes by Howard Frank

August 2022 - Crazy Eyes

About the Image(s)

I caught this fine fellow just coming out of the water at the Wilmette dog beach. I was entranced with the dog's eye color and cross-eyed stare. Taken with my Nikon Z9 and Z 100 to 400 lens at 1/1250 sec, f/11, ISO 1600 with a -2/3 EV.

Fierce indeed. I think I would have moved aside with this fellow charging at me. Glad you had a long lens. You didn't flinch and captured him well.   Posted: 08/08/2022 00:47:58

Hi Howard: This charming character, although scruffy with daunting blue crossed eyes, is definitely happy. Wonderful capture. Having that streak of wet sand at that location gave a perfect line for the rule of thirds. I love seeing happy dogs enjoying life. Thank you for sharing this image.   Posted: 08/13/2022 09:39:09

Not your typical dog picture Ilove it. great detail on the hair and very nice color. I would have removed whatever that red circle is on his body. Maybe a little less on the white in the middle of the head   Posted: 08/13/2022 11:00:52

The eye's are stunning and the detail with the wet hair compliment the photo beautifully.I may have cropped a little tighter to capture the line in the sand.   Posted: 08/14/2022 18:39:18

Howard, I think you have met one of the most critical qualifications for a wildlife photographer...being prepared and getting the shot when the unexpected and unique event occurs...Bravo! Classic!   Posted: 08/17/2022 18:46:07
