About the Image(s)
This image was captured at the iconic Rockford Tower in Wilmington, Delaware. Many photos have been taken of the tower along with paintings that are part of the culture of the city. The photo was taken with a Nikon J5 camera, wide angle lens in the P mode. The day started out sunny but soon changed to clouds and gray, thus very little color on this fall day. After trying to enhance what little color there was to work with I decided to go in the opposite direction. Post processing was completed in Silver Efex Pro 3.

Peter, a very fine job of capturing the wonderful texture and patterns of this monument. Good choice going to B&W...in my experience, color, even if unsaturated, can severely obscure the impact of texture. I also like the flat gray of the sky...a nice use of 'negative' space.   Posted: 12/14/2021 17:53:20

Fascinating, this looks like stone towers I've seen in Europe. I like that you've centered it but from an angle with the leading line of the walkway and the entry at the side. I also like that you left the keystoning, tho might try rotating it a couple degrees counterclockwise. Perhaps a bit of vignetting on the sky. What is the softness element on the top piece? Monochrome was a good choice, and the sepia monotone speaks to its age. When was it built? Could you enter?   Posted: 12/19/2021 01:09:47

I agree black and white is a good choice also. The texture of the tower is very nice. Beautiful capture and post-processing.   Posted: 12/28/2021 01:31:11
