About the Image(s)

This image was captured at a Field Trip with the Delaware Photographic Society to the Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia. For the day six photographers joined the Saturday morning trip.

The penitentiary is generally a dark spot but on this day we had plenty of sunshine. The image was captured with a Nikon D7200, 18mm, iSO 200, f5. Post processing was in Photolab4 and Color Efex Pro4

If this is how it looks on a sunny day, Peter, its appearance could be enough to scare a man into reforming. All lines lead to the light at the end of the tunnel, freedom; so the fact that the upper portion is burned out doesn't bother me. Tho on reconsideration, I think it would also work with cropping at the top of either of the grey horseshoe shapes. Wonderfully dreary texture.   Posted: 10/10/2021 17:59:33

Good depth of field in a very depressing place. I might recommend that you tone down the whites on top a bit. The light color tends to bring my eye up and out of the frame.   Posted: 10/15/2021 18:11:18
