Sukhna Lake by Subhash Sapru, APSA, PPSA

October 2021 - Sukhna Lake

About the Image(s)

The image was made many years ago in a winter morning at Sukhna lake in my native city. Some youth were rowing in the lake, therefore, I waited till I got one boat in my frame. The image was made against sun light shortly before the sun could emerge from behind the hills.
It was shot with Nikon D80, lens 70-300 mm f/4-5.6 with ISO 100. I processed it in Topaz DeNoise A1 and PS .

A very serene image, Subhash. I like the silhouetted rowers against warm-hued water and the soft, receding hills. Initially I thought the other object (perhaps a reflected flag and buoy?) distracting, but I've decided they provide a third , triangulating element, both between the boat and the beginning of its wake and between the boat and the predominant hill. Well seen. Well captured.   Posted: 10/10/2021 17:48:21

Nice tranquil scene. I really like the soft colors and tones and the foggy background. Nice silhouette detail.   Posted: 10/15/2021 18:08:21

Very nice as is although I would crop so the boat moves to the left. You would lose some of the hill in the background and that little bit of land sticking out in the upper left but it can do without the latter. Love the colors Nice mood and just enough detail   Posted: 10/16/2021 13:18:49

To me, the wonder of this image is its simplicity. It is elegant and evokes a state of meditation where the noise of thought and ego are not present. Wonderful!   Posted: 10/16/2021 16:28:17

The soft tones and fog are amazing. I agree with Bob that I would crop the boat a little bit to the left so that the persons on the boat are on the near lower left 1/3 position of the picture. Great capture and well done.   Posted: 10/20/2021 13:50:01
