September 2021 - Paper White butterfly

About the Image(s)

I was at our Chicago Botanic Gardens' last day for it's Butterflies and Blooms exhibit and captured this image of a newly hatched paper white butterfly.
Taken with my Nikon D850 and Tamron 180 macro lens, handheld, at ISO 1250, f/11 at 1/500th of a second and processed in Lightroom and Nik Software's Sharpen AI.

Nice. I love having the eyes so sharp I would be tempted to edit out that tiny bit of blue in the right center of t he flower, to the right of that sort of bare spot   Posted: 09/16/2021 00:12:56

Great capture and beautiful macro image. The butterfly is very sharp. The colors of the overall image are very beautiful also.   Posted: 09/18/2021 15:52:02

I love the tremendous detail you captured and the nuance of a predominately white colored subject. That adds a real sense of depth and aliveness. Congrats!   Posted: 09/18/2021 15:59:27

Howard, I love the detail. It is truly stunning and adds a texture effect that is offset by the flower. Beautiful!!   Posted: 09/21/2021 20:18:50

A wonderful, sharp macro capture. Love the contrast between the velvety wings and the flower. I doubt I've ever seen this butterfly and like its dramatic contrast, too.   Posted: 09/23/2021 01:42:11
