About the Image(s)

Grand Canyon sunrise two weeks ago. Another experiment on my part, specifically using a localized graduated filter (sky and sun exposure reduction) and slight color temp/tint adjustments (just on the observation point) in post processing.
A professional photo shoot was being setup below me, but the sun’s rays had not reached that group at the time of this image. I was amused that all of us were awaiting the light of the re-birthed sun for different reasons, and being frigidly cold at 24 degrees F to boot (lots of possible life metaphors here 😊).
Shot at ISO 500, 1/250, f 8.0, 18mm, D500

Looks like the same spot where I had the opportunity to make images way back in 1999.I had the film camera in those years. I could not visit it again during my second trip in 2015. I remember, the more you click, the less it is, so is the beauty of the Canyon.
As far as the image is concerned, to me the details of rocks are not as prominent as these should be. I think the reason is morning haze and the impact of filter. I also see too much of noise. Any way, you did try and must have made a few images.   Posted: 05/05/2021 20:57:14

Thanks for your feedback, Subhash. Yes the haze while I was there was quite noticeable as the weather patterns were quite windy.   Posted: 05/06/2021 21:49:32

Ham, I like the image as it has a surreal feel almost like a painting. Very nice!!   Posted: 05/16/2021 19:53:49

Peter, just the feeling I had and wanted to capture :-)
One is faced with immense Space and Light, yet no further ground forward to take a next step...great visual metaphor for life, perhaps?   Posted: 05/17/2021 12:50:30

Good vantage point to show of the canyon. I think if you played with the Texture, Clarity, and exposure in Lightroom or camera raw in Photoshop. you could bring out more at this amazing location.   Posted: 05/17/2021 09:51:15
