About the Image(s)
My local photography group went to Holland MI a week before the tulip festival thinking as usual the tulips would be in bloom, and we would avoid the rush. It was cold, windy and rainy all weekend. Probably less than 20% of the tulips were in bloom. I decided to go to the Holland Big Red lighthouse early the morning I was returning home when the skies opened and the sun broke through.

A well composed image. The two dominant colours, red and blue works well together. My only tiny comment is to remove the tip of the boat at the lower right.   Posted: 08/07/2022 13:07:41
Good catch. I just missed it   Posted: 08/07/2022 18:08:07
Great image. The composition, light and color all work well together. There's enough breathing room at the top for the flag. Like Arne my only comment is the boat coming into the frame.   Posted: 08/07/2022 19:41:20
Great image! Like the others, I think you need to get rid of the boat on the right.   Posted: 08/09/2022 22:36:44
At first glance there is a great big WOW reaction. That red building really grabs the eye. The second factor is to the somewhat stormy sky. Personally I just feel lighthouses, since they are nautical warnings, just need to have a stormy sky or a setting sun to set a scene for their use. This sky works. I agree with others that the boat on the right needs to be sunk so it does not distract. I like the separation of pier, water and sky as it shows on the right and wish that had continued on the left (the fence ruins that effect on the left)
I do not know why, but I feel as it the building is not straight (maybe an optical illusion?) I   Posted: 08/17/2022 12:36:09
