About the Image(s)

This image was taken with my iPhone 14 Pro Max with my 715 filter mounted to the camera. It was the first time that I used this combination and it was a lot easier to carry compared to my Nikon and tripod. It was opened n Photoshop, converted to b/w, contrast added, and foreground cropped. An article in PSA Journal by Rad Drew prompted me to try this and it worked.

Stuart,
What a great idea. How did you mount the filter? I have an external IR filter but never thought to use it the way you did. I am traveling light to Japan in Nov and using an external filter on my IPhone would solve bringing a second large camera. I enjoy all the vertical lines and triangles in your image.the only thing distracting to me is the second (higher wispy cloud) and the three hints of clouds to the right of it. Otherwise really good effort. Susan

Several months ago the PSA Journal had an article by Rad Drew about using an iPhone for IR. It tells what you need and how to take a shot. I believe PSA has a way to see old issues so suggest starting there. On my last trip I took all my camera gear but only used my iPhone 14 ProMax for everything.

Also look into SnapSeed to put on your iPhone as it is a way to do a myriad of adjustments to your picture. It's a "small" Photoshop.

What a nice idea and a great pic. Need to check if my mobile phones work in IR.   Posted: 09/18/2023 04:08:45

Very nice, I have followed Rad Drew for awhile now, I have played a little with the IR iPhone.
Nice old barn, and I like the way the lines of the fence leads you up into the image   Posted: 09/19/2023 11:06:33
