About the Image(s)

The attached image was taken with my converted Sony AR2 camera using a 50 mm lens. The image was taken in Paris (Luxembourg Gardens). Weather was predicted to be sunny but overcast each day. I elected not to add a sky or clouds to the image but use a texture instead. I used a new editing software (installed in PS) from Blake Rudis (CLIR. It allows multiple options for conversions.

Nice image in black and white. I don't think that the texture enhances the image-rather detracts from it. Perhaps you used too much. I would try a bit which might not work on a cloudless image. I would prefer clouds to enhance the overcast aura.   Posted: 05/09/2023 12:48:16

i agree with Debbie, I'd prefer clouds, what you have looks like a textured wallpaper. If you do decide to keep it, then I'd clone out the black mark on the right edge of the sky, that is not in the original. Also I think the chair at the end of the leading line is distracting. Nice perspective, leading lines, and I think you have a natural texture on the walkway. Maybe that is too close to the texture on the sky.   Posted: 05/09/2023 13:05:42

Susan, very nice image, I like the lines leading up and into the image. Maybe clone out the chair. I like the texture applied, looks like a painting. I purchased the CLIR course, but haven't done a lot with it yet.   Posted: 05/18/2023 11:09:30

I like this picture. It has an interesting old time's feeling. Well done.   Posted: 05/19/2023 02:54:27

Thank you for the suggestions. I will try putting in some clouds and removing the texture. I did clone out other chairs but left this one to symbolize no one was looking at the gardens. Will get ride of it. Also I went back and played with the whiteness of the mums in first three vases. I like my redone version as it places the focus on flowers. I also cloned out the bird on the right side. Alwasy room for improvement. Thanks, again. Susan   Posted: 05/23/2023 17:25:03

It is such a beautiful railing with the plants on each pedestal that are echoed on the railing in the background. The use of texture creates an unusual background, which I like. You could use the Healing Brush to remove the person and the bird as neither contribute to the scene.   Posted: 05/26/2023 12:44:17
