About the Image(s)
Bristlecone Pine, at about 9000 ft, along the North Loop Trail to Mt Charleston peak, taken October 2016. The tree is situated such that it stands out nicely against the sky, one of my favorites. Camera: Panasonic GX8 converted to IR with a Deep BW 830nm filter. Lens: Lumix G-Vario 12-60mm at 12mm, f/6.3, 1/100 sec. Processed with Nik Silver Effex Pro.

This really had a nice range of tones and I imagine was the result of a hike? Well worth the effort. I like the way the trunk is lighted, and the sky pops out with a cloud leading the eye to the top branches. Well Done!   Posted: 06/10/2022 19:48:34
The Bristlecones are great to photograph especially against a blue sky. In this case I'd like the sky darker to make the tree stand out. The cropping from the original nicely eliminates an unnecessary foreground.   Posted: 06/18/2022 07:50:29
Love the tonality of this!!! Actually, I love the phot as well. There is such a beautiful sweep to the trunk and roots. Makes me think of a bonsai tree! I think you did a fabulous job!!!   Posted: 06/20/2022 12:08:39
