About the Image(s)

So it was a nice bright hot day here in Cincinnati, a great day for IR. So I stopped by one of my favorite places here in town. Spring grove cemetery and arboretum. Shot this image with my Nikon d5100 with the kit lens. Processed in Capture One 21, used a high contrast B&W filter.
I started using the Nikon Live view, and images are now in focus more often.

Beautiful building, I can see why it is a favorite. For me, the clouds are just a tad too blown out but looking at the original, I don't think there was anything to recover. The more I look at this, the more I think it would make a great "artistic" piece. I think it would be great run through a few of the Topaz Studio looks!   Posted: 07/09/2021 12:08:10

There is so much detail in this church that I wish you had shown the entire front. You could also get a lot of interesting shapes by photographing small areas rather than trying to show the entire building. The cluster of very bright leaves detracts plus it blocks some of the building. Could you shoot the front from a different angle to eliminate the leaves?   Posted: 07/10/2021 14:23:50

I am inclined to agree with Stuart. I'd either like to see the whole front or a close up of the detail. I also feel that the foliage is a little distracting, maybe it would help if you toned them down a little. As Debbie says, the clouds are also very bright. I think this building has loads of potential and is well worth another visit, maybe when the light is not quite so harsh.   Posted: 07/20/2021 08:42:37
