About the Image(s)

I made this image in Cincinnati a few years ago with my old Nikon D70s Ir converted camera.
This was taken late in the day, and the sun was shining on the trees and had a few nice clouds in the background.
Camera settings, ISO 500, 1/1000sec, f/8, at 44mm on the 18-70mm kit lens.
Processed with Capture One 21, and Photoshop 2021, used Topaz AI Denoise, to remove a bit of noise in the sky, and clouds. Removed a few dust spots.

Hope you are feeling better now Nelson and back to normal after your accident.
Here you have made a nice feature of the tree which is laden with leaves and fills the frame from the left, the strong branches leading the foliage through. It acts as canopy for the thin strip of cloud underneath and I would be tempted to crop it there taking out the dark base and leaving it as a nice high key pic.   Posted: 05/09/2021 02:10:30

If the main subject is the tree, then I wish you had shown more of it than just the overhanging limb. Since there is beauty in what you did show showing more would no doubt make for a very pleasant scene.   Posted: 05/14/2021 08:50:45

I agree with Helen's suggestion I.e. crop out the dark base just leaving a high key image of the trees and clouds which I think would be beautiful. The dark base is just a distraction from the lovely tree and the interesting clouds Less is more or so the 'saying goes.   Posted: 05/14/2021 14:31:33

I really like the look of the foliage. It rendered beautifully! The suggestion of. removing the bottom dark area is a good to consider I think. It would keep the photo very light and ethereal I think but it is beautiful as is, too!   Posted: 05/14/2021 18:19:32

After careful consideration, I think I agree with those who are in favor of removing the dark foliage at the bottom. Somehow, for me, it takes way from the feeling of light and airiness that I get from the top part of the image. The bank of clouds is interesting. I wonder if you had been able to move to the left (l know that sometimes that is not possible) and presented this in a portrait orientation with more of the tree trunk in the image if it might feel more "anchored?"   Posted: 05/16/2021 13:03:32
