About the Image(s)
This is a composite from 10 different shots. The key issue here is how to compose seamless image backgrounds.

Wow! A lot of patience must have gone into shooting all those originals! What sort of birds are they, remind me of kingfishers? I am not sure if it is a waterlily and it's reflection far left, but it seems to be the same colouration as the birds. Either way, I would get rid of it, since it interferes with the main activity, and the result would greatly improve the overall composition. I would also brighten the image slightly. A wonderful creation, not without a tad of humour. Brilliant!   Posted: 05/02/2023 08:52:18
Hi Mike. Yes, you are right. The birds are kingfishers. Thanks for your suggestions.   Posted: 05/24/2023 08:13:11
What a great bird ballet Frans! Your originals are beautifully shot and your melding of them into one image is superbly accomplished. The colors are so vivid and happy. I love the scallop shape of the tree branch, which also contributes to the lighthearted feel of the image. My only suggestion would be to move at least one of the three birds under the branch either up/down or right/left so they aren't so evenly spaced from each other, which might give them a more random and natural (less staged) composition. That's very much just a minor nitpick. Your piece is "paradise" in motion!   Posted: 05/04/2023 16:44:13
Hi Jan. Thanks for nice comments and suggestions.   Posted: 05/24/2023 08:14:36
What a great picture - love everything about it, and especially that there is so much to see and enjoy. My only suggestion would be to desaturate the greenery a bit, so that it does not compete with the birds - but not a big deal. A beauty!   Posted: 05/09/2023 13:06:22
Hi Gunter. I have desaturated the background a bit but not the greenery. Thanks for your comments and suggestions.   Posted: 05/24/2023 08:16:27
An excellent composition! You've blended the individual birds into the scene beautifully.
Capturing all these images was a feat in itself - we're lucky to catch a fleeting glimpse of kingfishers so photographing them takes so much setting up and patience.
Well done.   Posted: 05/09/2023 15:33:01

Hi Steve. Thanks for your kind words.   Posted: 05/24/2023 08:17:04
Stunning. I do notice that the reflections in the water match each individual bird, but are not quite consistent with the entirety of movement in the whole image.   Posted: 05/24/2023 12:17:39
You are sharp! Thanks Steve.   Posted: 05/25/2023 01:35:46
