About the Image(s)

My image this month is an old car and a little red winged blackbird female on her nest.

1-The car was straightened
2-Little bird with nest added, sized to fit the bumper, nest blended with pine straw
3-Nik darken-lighten, On One rich glow, sharpen, tone enhancer, and subtle vignette
4-Two textures added to brighten the image, especially the bird-foxy laurinda and photomorphosis dodge and burnish
5-Crisp Water from the LUT's added-to remove some of warm tones add add some cool tones especially to bird
6-silver wings texture #13 added and silver Wings #14 added to red on bottom
7-a gaussian blur layer - slightly blurring original layer - was added to original layer - bird and fixtures masked out. This softened the pitting on the car

I wondered how you got the nest to cover the fender until I read your description. The blending is flawless. I have an African image that I've been working on thinking it's just a cut and paste job of different African scenes. The absolute success of this image helps to convince me to finish my image. I just hope it's this good.   Posted: 09/04/2021 09:07:30

What an excellent image. Finding the car with the straw was obviously a lucky event, but you've blended it so well. Your treatment of it has enhanced the image, so it looks so believeable.
Just goes to show - you can never trust a photograph! Well done.   Posted: 09/04/2021 15:42:24

An image to make me smile. Being just a little picky the cut out around the top of the bird's head has a slightly green hue in some areas. Removing that would strengthen the blend.   Posted: 09/04/2021 23:06:04

Thanks, Brian. I appreciate you pointing out the green hue. I thought that I had removed the cast from the foliage behind the bird in the original, but more work was needed.   Posted: 09/12/2021 12:32:08

Love this image Candy! You did a fabulous job of blending the existing pine needles on the bumper with the nesting straw. I like that you lightened up the bird so the details are more noticeable. I do agree with Brian about the green hue on the top of the bird. Your various treatments all worked together to produce an outstanding composite!   Posted: 09/05/2021 17:13:42
