Aletschwald Nature Reserve by Raymond Zurschmitten, QPSA

August 2022 - Aletschwald Nature Reserve

About the Image(s)

Camera settings: Fuji X-T4, 33mm (lens 18 - 55mm), 1/125mm, f/6.4, ISO 800

Minimal development in Lightroom

Yesterday morning we went to the Aletschwald Nature Reserve to escape the heat and (for me) to take some photos. This picture shows the path to a small high moor, which is illuminated by the first rays of sunlight - for me symbolically a path to the light.

This must have been a pleasant walk, very peaceful and hopefully cool in the shade of the trees, the image is nice and the path is drawing you to the bright area of grass in the distance. But the large rock is grabbing you and pulling you back and for me is the dominate part of the image. Maybe more could have been made of this rock.   Posted: 08/10/2022 05:13:35

Thanks Paul for your feedback. For me, the mentioned rock is a passage on the way to the goal. That you can also consider this as an obstacle I like to recognize. With many photos, several views are possible. That will make me accentuate the rock less in the next developing. I appreciate your feedback very much.   Posted: 08/14/2022 10:32:21

That's a beautiful photograph with a great leading line. Looks like a great place to hike and photograph.   Posted: 08/13/2022 19:09:15

Thanks Arief for your feedback - the forest is green despite the current dryness - partly because it is on the shady side of the mountain.   Posted: 08/16/2022 09:52:22
