Foreground Roses and Aletsch Glacier by Raymond Zurschmitten, QPSA

September 2021 - Foreground Roses and Aletsch Glacier

About the Image(s)

In the attachment I send you my photo for the month of September. I have the following information:

The image was taken with the Fuji X-T2 at 1/125 seconds, aperture 16 and ISO 200 with 18 mm (lens XF18 “ 55 mm). The image was processed with minimal editing in Lightroom.

On the hike along the Aletsch glacier we passed a place where the alpine roses formed a beautiful foreground to the glacier - an opportunity I didn't want to miss for taking pictures.

With kind regards - Raymond

Using granite and red flower as foreground was good decision. The light was sufficient to illuminate the foreground. It's nice landscape photo.   Posted: 09/07/2021 07:52:26

Lovely flowers, majestic snow mountains, haze and cloud on the above and steep slopes on both sides, well framed the POI -- the wandering road covered by ice and snow but full of footprints and tracks.
The footprints on the frozen road bring imaginations, and the contrast between the flowers and the snow mountain enlarged their space.
Although I'm not sure which direction to go, I like the complexed sense. Nice picture.   Posted: 09/08/2021 00:46:13

Awesome photograph! Everything works incredibly well together: the beautiful red color of the alpine roses and the yellow color on the rocks in the foreground, the leading curving line of the road, the gray and white of the glacier that contrasts well with the colors in the foreground, and the fog and clouds at the top of the scene. I also like the story of the photo: life thriving in the foreground right below the harsh world of the glacier. Nicely done!   Posted: 09/12/2021 16:32:59

That's one for the archives, what a great spot to stop and have your lunch and watch the world fly by, wild mountain roses and the perfect glacier leading to a wonderful snowcapped mountain and not a whistling goat herder in sight. Perfect Bliss. In a way its a shame that dark cloud has rolled in to spoil the view. Can you hear the jealously.   Posted: 09/15/2021 05:32:50

thank you very much for your feedback, which I appreciate. The clouds were gone 1/2 hour later, which would not have made the picture better from my point of view.   Posted: 09/15/2021 06:20:17

I think you have a lovely composition here. One are often confronted with dull snowy landscapes. But with the addition of the flowers it have just popped and became a really great image. Your settings is spot one as wel.   Posted: 09/19/2021 15:45:37
