October 2024 - Suroloyo Viewing Point

About the Image(s)

Leaving from hotel at 5 am we plan to see sunrise in Suroloyo peak. By passing narrow road that only can fit for one car I and my wife entering the area that we never visited before. Known as one of sacred mountains by Javanese people where they believe the peak was one of the holy places for Javanese Hindu. Suroloyo peak located one hour drive from Yogyakarta. The peak itself located in the border of Central Java and Yogyakarta.
When we arrived in Suroloyo peak after hiking 200m by using very step cement stair there were 5 visitors there. We cannot saw sunrise since the fog was very tight. Only the white everywhere. My wife went down first, while I was in the peak alone after all visitor when down. After one hour in the Suroloyo peak, when I wanted to go down, I saw the fog started gone heated by sunlight. In the distance around 300 meter I saw a building covered by fog. The fog slowly gone. I took several frames while watching the amazing nature of the hilly and mountain surrounding. I search in the web the building name is Suroloyo Viewing Post, while I stand in Soroloyo Peak. This was one of the frame that I would share with Group 33 for October 2024 discussion.
Editing : using ACR in PS2025 I did basic editing such as exposure, brightness, contrast, shadow, highlight.

That's a wonderful photograph! The building lit by sunlight really stands out as an important image surrounded by mist.   Posted: 10/15/2024 00:50:50
