Recombobulation Area
This is a word-play picture, just for fun this month, not for serious photography. It shows the area at the Milwaukee, Wisconsin airport just past the security area. About 11 years ago, the airport manager responsible for signage throughout the airport had this sign put up, to indicate that individuals just passing through security could use this area to reorganize their clothing and baggage. He had invented a new word, and he delighted both travelers and wordsmiths

A bit of humor is needed now and then.   Posted: 06/01/2022 06:14:37

A very much needed area to put things away, shoes back on and maybe a belt also. A very good title for the area. I would crop off the partial area on the left.   Posted: 06/06/2022 10:53:43

I didn't know it wasn't a real word. Discombobulated is a word we use so why not recombobulated? You are right-putting everything back on is such a pain, especially when you have to take your shoes off and then get your cameras, lenses etc back into the camera bag. Somehow we always end up having our bags searched separately-maybe they think no-one can have as many photographic items as we carry round. For some reason, my bag shows apparent signs of explosives and I've never understood why, but it means a special chemical check. One day I'll find out what sets off the alarm because I've never been in contact with explosives or guns or anything even remotely connected.
I agree with Tom -crop off the left side.   Posted: 06/10/2022 04:47:05

It IS a real word--now, for 11 years. The USA does not have a language academy, so real words are only defined by common usage. Not only did it go into common use right away, it went promptly into dictionaries. AND it won a new word award from an informal word-watching organization.   Posted: 06/23/2022 13:44:38

Just the idea of having to recombobulate should provide a message to the airlines. I've always gone through security without any issue - just one of the pack. My husband, however, is always pulled aside. I told him he is obviously a danger to travel with and will be left home going forward. He was not amused...   Posted: 06/13/2022 17:33:17
