About the Image(s)

There were bright color in this sunset, but I also like the dramatic cloud formation too. I decided I liked the b&w a bit better, but I attach the original as well. I shot this in Vermont late in this summer after a rainstorm with the Sony RX100 and finished with PS and Nik Efex Pro.

I to prefer the B&W, good call.   Posted: 11/01/2021 16:51:28

I do enjoy the bw more than the color. Although, without the color there is no sunset, so I would rename the bw version as just "storm" or similar. I tried to reduce some of the noise and introduce more contrast in the clouds. Not a big change, but I think increases the feel of "storm".   Posted: 11/01/2021 18:49:50

Dorinda's comments almost exactly parallel what I was going to write.   Posted: 11/02/2021 09:26:02

if it is Sunset, I would leave it color.   Posted: 11/06/2021 11:57:18

I'm torn here. In your original, the sky is very nice, but the trees are a bit boring. If it was about the tress, I may like the black and white version because you may be able to get some exciting contrast, but I love that sky.   Posted: 11/09/2021 08:55:48

A storm maybe coming and a wider picture by adding width on the right plus including the bottom of the trees and overall height in the clouds may strengthen the overall photo. Your colored picture is a keeper.   Posted: 11/12/2021 14:13:10
