Boardwalk by Jody Coker

October 2024 - Boardwalk

About the Image(s)

This is the same boardwalk that you saw last month, but this image was just shot two weeks ago, a week before Hurricane Helene, hope it is still there. The image was shot with B&W in mind. Post was done in affinity photo. I cropped it some and set the level to the horizon. Did a little work on shadows, like under the walk.
Tech stuff… 24-105 shot at 50mm, f18, 1/60th. Hand held but bracing on the rail.

I like that you chose bw for this one. I think it works well. The composition feels a little heavy on the right side. I cropped in about 1/2 way. See what you think.   Posted: 10/07/2024 20:22:21

I debated using a more left centered crop, it was a personal thing because I always had to dodge the bush when using the walk LOL   Posted: 10/12/2024 18:17:49

I like it, but your horizon looks a little off.   Posted: 10/08/2024 14:05:42

The walkway is not level so I zoomed in on the actual horizon to set the level. Looks off but it should be straight   Posted: 10/12/2024 18:19:52

Yes, the horizon is not level.

The image by Dorinda is more balance.   Posted: 10/12/2024 13:32:41

That's what I thought you had done. Those walkways are seldom level!
