November 2023 - Red, Red, And More Red

About the Image(s)

Autumn is my very favorite season. When the leaves start to fall, I can't take a walk outside without coming home with a handful of them. These I gathered just this week about two blocks from home. I couldn't wait to get home to start taking photos. Nikon D750, Nikon lens 60mm macro f/2.8, f11, ISO 12800 in a nearly dark dining room.

Autumn is my favorite season too! Love the reds. Nice image that tells the story of the season.   Posted: 11/04/2023 13:14:27

What? No wildlife in the image? Beautiful grouping of red maple leaves and most importantly how you grouped them into this Wonderful composition. One little nit would be to rearrange the center bottom leaf or use software to rid the uglies at the tip of this leaf. You didn't mention the light source, but it worked well.   Posted: 11/05/2023 21:10:48

Beautifully emphasised by the dark background.   Posted: 11/06/2023 03:41:28

I love our Maple Leafs - trees and hockey team. Beautiful arrangement, nicely photographed. Colours and tones are beautiful. I actually like the blemishes as it makes the subject real for me. The only change I would make, is turn the leafs about 20 degrees or so - makes the composition a bit more interesting. Another option is to turn it one turn to the right, and you have the bunch of leafs take on the shape of a single leaf.   Posted: 11/06/2023 21:26:03

What a great idea--bring leaves inside where you can arrange them. Color is great as is your arrangement. I am conflicted about the decaying parts--it shows reality, but I have heard so many times to get such images at the peak. A local photographer did a series of deaad flower images and they were beautiful. I also enjoy the fall season and am glad to live where we have 4 seasons. You do keep coming up with new ideas to inspire us.   Posted: 11/19/2023 16:23:25
