About the Image(s)
Since we take so many cross-country trips, I find it interesting to see state capitols when we are near them. I am embarrassed to say I have not been in the MD statehouse! We were headed to Columbus, IN so stopped in Indianapolis to see the capitol there. I have discovered that my phone is often more successful than my Olympus because it does better in low light and has 3 lenses. I like to see the domes and lie on the floor to get a good view. The settings show equivalent of 26mm. SS 1/60. F 1.5 and ISO 160. It probably doesn’t stand by itself, but I liked the colors and the patterns around it.

I was just telling a friend today that my phone sometimes does a better job than my camera (or at least it's easier with the phone). I like the symmetry. Nice sharp image! Might also look good with a square crop.   Posted: 09/08/2023 17:53:21
Elaine, I find my phone does do a better job on tight quarters and indoors than my camera does. I am glad I upgraded from my 6+! I have several extra cameras on my phone that are fun to experiment with too.   Posted: 09/18/2023 12:07:10
WOW Judy - great capture - like everything about it - geometric design, exposure, colours, and sharpness. Elaines idea of trying it with a square crop is interesting - 2 points of view - do you want to feature the dome, or do you want to show some of the environment? Personally I like it as it is. But nothing wrong with 2 versions, like a small series.   Posted: 09/12/2023 08:55:17
Thanks, Gunter. I think it is good, especially with digital to try different views, and once on the floor, I take several hoping at least one will work. Getting up is he challenge.   Posted: 09/18/2023 12:08:48
Very nice, Judy. Nice crisp image. Great colors.   Posted: 09/12/2023 14:48:34
What an interesting image. I'll bet not many photographers have sought to get such a symmetrical perspective by lying on the floor. Probably many legislators would enjoy an enlargement for their office or home.   Posted: 09/12/2023 18:48:33
My club has had assignments in the past of "different point of view" just to get us to look up and down and all around. I have to keep reminding myself to do that. Sometimes the best photo is behind us.   Posted: 09/18/2023 12:11:04
Hi Judy, I really like this just as presented. Great colors and a really imaginative perspective.   Posted: 09/16/2023 15:21:14
