I guess you and I found the same bird this month. The great egrets are indeed beautiful. I love your shot in the tree, very unusual to see that. I put your image into Photoshop and increased the saturation a little and sharpened it.   Posted: 04/06/2021 20:48:52

It can be tough to get a clear shot in a rookery. I'm not sure where your focus is, but it doesn't appear to be the bird's face?   Posted: 04/13/2021 09:57:51

Great shot! As Bill mentioned, perhaps the focus point might be a bit off? I like how Karen was able to sharpen the image and make it pop a little more.   Posted: 04/14/2021 12:36:37

Tam, you had a challenge with a bird in a tree which makes it hard to focus. The eye doesn't seem sharp to me, but it is hard to get the eye sharp. The branch cutting across the bird is distracting and perhaps moving would have eliminated it. For nature, it can't be changed. Yes, those long lenses are heavy!   Posted: 04/16/2021 10:39:03

Hi Tam,
I think the posture you have captured is really unusual. Having used a tripod it is a shame there is a lack of sharpness - perhaps TOPAZ software might save the image. Did you use a remote release or the timer to fire the shutter to minimise camera shake?
