About the Image(s)
I was recently in Havana, Cuba. We were doing street photography. I saw this lady and snapped the picture. I thought the background was distracting. I wanted to emphasize her. I used the select subject and then placed her on a background.

Great job with replacement of the background and the crop!   Posted: 05/03/2023 05:21:09
Thanks. Do you think the background emphasizes the girl?   Posted: 05/03/2023 07:43:18
Perfect background for this subject!   Posted: 05/05/2023 04:51:07
Beautiful portrait and great job in replacing the background. It looks as though it was shot in a studio. The lighting on and around her face keeps my attention plus her pose is interesting and unique. Well seen!   Posted: 05/03/2023 09:57:52
Thanks so much. I liked the way it turned out   Posted: 05/03/2023 10:03:12

You captured a beautiful moment when this highly photogenic young lady was deep in her thoughts and may not be fully aware that her right hand is touching the hair. Capturing a natural moment like that and transforming to a studio photo created the uniqueness to this portrait. Well done!! I am curious to know whether you tried with subdued original background.   Posted: 05/06/2023 14:07:05
Thank you so much. I did try a subdued background as well. Both gave the impression I wanted to portray   Posted: 05/06/2023 19:39:48
Deborah,
Very professional look and feel to the background - it looks as if it was originally there. As for the woman, her pose is very laid back making me the viewer wonder what was on her mind. I think the blue dress helps to "pop" the portrait. You nailed her facial expression as well!   Posted: 05/09/2023 12:28:39

I am really impressed with how you turned this street photo into what looks like a studio portrait. Did you use Lightroom or Camera Raw to extract just the woman from the original photo or some other app. It makes me want to try this technique on some of my own photos.   Posted: 05/22/2023 21:21:54
I used the subject select in Photoshop, then put it on a background. Photoshop and lightroom do a great job with select masks. Thanks for your comments   Posted: 05/22/2023 21:45:57
