About the Image(s)
This is the Thunderbirds and was taken at the 2023 Thunder and Lightning Over Arizona Air Show at the Davis-Monthan AFB.
It was a wonderful, sunny day, and a great show. Many photos to look through when I was done.

Ah, nice symmetry and movements captured.   Posted: 05/03/2023 05:22:33
Thanks Wanda, I was fortunate to have a great spot to capture the Thunderbirds in action.   Posted: 05/03/2023 09:48:50
Deb, I think the various positions of the jets adds greatly to this composition. The three that are streaming off to the wild blue are supported by the two still in their wake. Then that final jet brings up the rear adding some closure to the image. One of these days I am going to get myself over to one of these airshows.   Posted: 05/09/2023 12:24:36
Thanks Joe, It was a day well spent and many photos to sift through to pick my favourites. Many misses also so it was great practice capturing fast moving objects.   Posted: 05/09/2023 15:02:02
I agree with Joe. What a wonderful composition and well executed. I wonder if you added a bit more contrast if the jets would pop more. Just a thought.   Posted: 05/09/2023 12:58:38
Thanks Deborah, I did some post processing, but may be over cautious and try not to overdo it.   Posted: 05/09/2023 15:03:09
I also had the same thoughts. Over processing is so obvious. However, someone just commented on one of my images - and said "punch it up". It is a delicate balance.   Posted: 05/09/2023 19:40:47
A balance and personal preference, also what we are used to seeing in the area we live in. Interesting to get varied opinions though.   Posted: 05/10/2023 15:34:43

I wonder - sharpness vs contrast?   Posted: 05/09/2023 19:41:27
I, too, have gone to air shows, mainly the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) and taken hundred of photos and know how many misses happen before a good shot is made. I like your composition. I also appreciate the comments regarding sharpness vs contrast as I have asked myself the same question.   Posted: 05/22/2023 21:01:25
Thanks Kathy, I find that air shows are great practice, both at taking photos and then deleting them.   Posted: 05/23/2023 09:42:52
