Day End Fantasy by Jan van Leijenhorst

May 2022 - Day End Fantasy

About the Image(s)

I like photographing trees at this time of year, with the leaves just about to come out.
The sky was rather dull, so I placed sky layer and then a texture layer to blend with the original image.

Your sky is blooming when the tree is not blooming! Definitely a fantasy photo, I am curious how you got the texture in the sky? Where did you find this texture layer, is it part of a program, your own shot, or purchased? It looks like petals, which is consistent with the fantasy. I think you might try masking the background trees before applying the sky since the trees are tinged at the tops with a stripe of darker pink; perhaps the sky not the trees should be pink?   Posted: 05/08/2022 11:16:18

I found the texture online. To find textures go to Unsplash.com or stock.abode.com (go to the "free" section)   Posted: 05/16/2022 20:14:22

I like the overall effect of this image, and the pink colouration of the sky. I feel however that the texture layer has been applied at the wrong layer level, as we can see texture on the tree branches when it should really be behind the branches.   Posted: 05/09/2022 06:20:59

I love this. In fact, I think this is the best photo of yours I've seen you post. Well, that's how much I like it.
I love all of it. Nice job on layering. I would not like it if the layer was behind the tree.   Posted: 05/16/2022 17:33:17

Very cool photo!!!! I really like this as well and probably would not change it much. Out of curiosity, you could probably select the tree trunks and mask out the texture which might improve it a little.   Posted: 05/24/2022 14:07:19

An interesting and appealing image, showing some good creativity. I also feel that plain tree branches would be better. And perhaps removing the colour from the "rocks" at the bottom.   Posted: 05/30/2022 03:53:31
