Tulip Trio by Jan van Leijenhorst

June 2021 - Tulip Trio

About the Image(s)

A trio of late blooming tulips in a nearby park.
All other tulips were gone by the time I went here, but these were still in full bloom.

Wow! Nice lighting. Did you post process this? Would love to know what settings you used as I like the capture.
The composition of three tulips in a triangular shape is stunning and well done. I might, or might not, edit out one of the reds to have a repetition of three. Just would have to see how it would look.
Like the way you have captured the reds in the background to accentuate the red in the three tulips. As always, you have captured an uplifting photo of nature. Thanks for sharing.   Posted: 06/09/2021 11:58:06

Very nice, groups of three are also artistic. I gather from your last name that Dutch might be involved, and tulips are a big deal. They are for our family! Some tulips will bloom late in Spring, so you were lucky. They are a bit bright, maybe you could tone them down. I think the red is a nice touch, maybe more Gaussian blur on them so they are the background would be good. Lovely composition and presentation.   Posted: 06/10/2021 08:53:23

To me this is a simple but very effective image of the tulips. I like their arrangement and the soft yellow and red tones of them. The inclusion of the diffused out of focus flowers in the background presents the tulips appearing against a totally black background. However I would clone out the one touching the flower on the right as once seen it attracts the eye.   Posted: 06/13/2021 01:59:53

Nice image. I like the simplicity of it. I would remove the green stem that is coming from the tallest tulip upward. Good job.   Posted: 06/13/2021 14:48:16

Very nice arrangement and 3 flowers works well for the composition. I also like that we see some of the background both greens and reds. I think the yellow is a little bright on my screen. I do agree with the red merger on the right.   Posted: 06/15/2021 09:23:26

Very good composition, particularly the stepped arrangement. the dark background in the bottom half works very well with the dark reds complementing the red in the flower. It seems to me that there are few over bright parts amongst the yellows. Perhaps you could consider doing something about the dark green stem coming out of the top flower
