About the Image(s)

Another one from my day on the carrier. I have never been a fan of frozen blades, makes the plane or helicopter look frozen and kind of like a model. This photographed at 1/40 at f22 and ISO 100 at 44mm. Basic editing in LR with a bit of straightening and then off to PS. Cleaned up a few spots and added some contrast with NIK Color Efex 6.

Very well done to get this shot whilst panning with a relatively slow shutter speed and managing to keep the aircraft sharp. I agree with you abut frozen blades, I have found that a shutter speed of less than 1/100 sec will work with the power at ground idle, But I have found it is almost impossible to have frozen blades and a sharp aircraft, just after it has taken off.   Posted: 10/08/2024 10:46:47

Love the shadow that is captured as well as the front cockpit area. You really captured the motion. Such a fun experience.   Posted: 10/10/2024 13:42:06

Excellent shot, shadow enhances the shot and motion blur compliments it very well.   Posted: 10/22/2024 23:30:32
