May 2022 - Early Morning Ride

About the Image(s)

I took this photo about a week ago quite early during a morning walk up a hill. It was foggy and I meet this lady riding her bike. There was not much color in the regional photo and so I convert it to B&W in camera raw.

Nicely seen. With the fog, the figure is disappearing a little into the background, and the s-curve and road lines push your eyes to the figure.   Posted: 05/03/2022 20:21:09

The composition calls for a B&W treatment. It gives the right feeling to a very peacefully scene, enhanced by the fog. The curved lines guide the eye to the biker disappearing from the image. Well done!   Posted: 05/09/2022 19:00:13

The curved road with its lines and edges carry my eye through the composition. I tend to get frustrated when the subject is moving away from me (rear view) but I think it works to your advantage.
Did you find the spot and then wait for your subject to appear?   Posted: 05/13/2022 10:20:00

Nice composition and subject. The mood makes the image. I am not sure if cropping a bit from the right side (the bushes) would make the image better?   Posted: 05/14/2022 22:08:56

B&W is perfect for this image, even if there was a lot of color in the original. I like fog; it gives a calm atmosphere to images that is not commonly seen. I agree, in this case the subject going away works extremely well. I do agree with Anges--the bush to the right is a bit distracting. Maybe even clone out some of the branches that are "on their own" to the left and cropping a bit. Possibly the remaining part could be "fogged out" a bit too, although you would have to be careful about making it look too artificial.   Posted: 05/21/2022 13:37:51
