About the Image(s)

Taken in Iceland a few years ago. Since this is a famous and familiar site for tourists and the angle of shooting is a standard one, so I try to change it to black and white to make it looks different. The weather is not that tough because I visited there in September. A tripod was used for a longer exposure time.

This is a good composition with interesting lead in lines provided by the cliffs and waterfall. I would like to see more contrast especially in the left foreground.   Posted: 07/09/2021 10:42:47

I like your treatment. Having been there in more inferior lighting conditions, I like this as a B&W, for the reasons you stated. Because of the lighting, you have nice details in the falls. My only suggestion would be to vignette the left bottom corner to hold the viewer in.   Posted: 07/09/2021 10:49:33

You are right that this is a very standard view of the waterfalls, so the color version would have rendered the typical tourist photo. Converting it to B&W makes it different and more appealing. Beyond the nice composition provided by the triangle formed by the falls, I like that you nicely captured the rising steam. The sky complements the background, and the tones look right on the money.   Posted: 07/09/2021 19:44:12

A beautiful version of the falls. Good idea to change the image to BW. I am undecided about leaving the tourists in the scene. They are so tiny I did not notice them immediately so I might remove them; yet, they offer a perspective showing size of the falls. Artist's choice!   Posted: 07/11/2021 13:28:07

I like the composition and also that you converted it to BW, also because of the conditions. Would try to get a bit more contrast into the image though, to me it seems a bit too flat still, but that might be personal taste.   Posted: 07/13/2021 04:33:08
