About the Image(s)
Here is ”Little Alien”, for Halloween. A detail and an interesting shadow on the wall of an abandoned industrial complex caught my eye. Fuji X-T4 on tripod, 137.2 mm, f/13, 1/25 s, ISO 160.

Although fond of your non-conventional images, I'm at loss with this one. I can see two "eyes" and some kind of "legs" in the main subject, but the shadows (of a fir tree?) don't correspond to it and confuse me. Sorry, but I don't have any editing ideas.   Posted: 10/09/2024 02:12:27
Thank you, Jose, I can see your point! I am quite fond of the little creature myself though, and will try to think if I could find a way to make him more presentable. At least he should get better separated from the background?   Posted: 10/09/2024 18:11:15
I agree with Jose. I'm drawn to the rectangle with the eyes and the various textures. I think the shadows of the tree do confuse the image. I'd love to see it without the shadow. I'm not beyond moving a branch or other "innocent" changes to the environment to get the image that I want.   Posted: 10/13/2024 23:47:06
Thank you, Terry, I am working on that!   Posted: 10/14/2024 11:58:44
The alien and its shadow would have made a great picture. The fir tree shadow is confusing and interferes with the main shadow. I would also like to see some separation between the white cloth on the left and the background.   Posted: 10/14/2024 17:20:59
Thank you, Mervyn! I am trying various sorts of masks to reach that effect now.   Posted: 10/14/2024 19:01:08
I like the Jurassic monster in the shadow, and if you can make them work together better, I think you saw something really interesting.   Posted: 10/14/2024 19:41:22
Thank you, Bob, I think that I am getting there, little by little.   Posted: 10/14/2024 19:50:45
An abstract image requiring some imagination. I agree that removing the shadow of the tree would clean up the photo, thought it is up to you what to include and compose the image. The color palette looks nice.   Posted: 10/27/2024 01:51:09
Thank you, Tony - I like the colors, too. The shadow has proven to be more difficult to modify than I thought, but I keep getting back to it,   Posted: 10/27/2024 06:01:11
