October 2024 - Ocean Stacks

About the Image(s)

These structures are in the Azores Islands off the west coast of Portugal. Much of the island was created by Volcanic eruption which created these interesting structures in the ocean.

I like the composition with the two interesting rocks. Although both are on one side of the image, the picture looks balanced; most probably because of the waves. The horizon is straight and very well placed below the center.   Posted: 10/09/2024 02:13:49

Hi Mervyn! The peculiar rock formations against the lovely sky make an interesting image, and the light shows the textures of the rock beautifully. It must have been difficult to avoid overexposure of the foam on the waves.   Posted: 10/13/2024 19:48:32

There is a lot to look at in this image, details in the sky, in the rocks and in the surf although I think I might try to darken the surf a little to try to get more detail and to not distract for the sea stacks   Posted: 10/13/2024 23:40:01

I like the composition and impact of the image. If there is any chance of reducing highlights in the top wave in the original raw image, so that there is detail there.   Posted: 10/14/2024 19:36:40

The rocks look magnificent. Their shape complements each other, one has a wider top in contrast to the other. I like their texture and layers. I suppose I can see tiny birds as well. The only suggestion is to reduce the highlight of the waves to get some details back.   Posted: 10/16/2024 08:54:19
