Mother's Day Tulips by Ruth Holt

May 2022 - Mother's Day Tulips

About the Image(s)

"Mother's Day Tulips" was taken a few days after Mother's day, at my dining room table. I'm learning to go into Pro on the phone/camera and I'm getting some neat shots. Opened and resize in APS-CS6. Cloned some in the B/G on rt. side, Auto tone, and frame. Hope you all are enjoying a good Spring, which will be summer before we know it. Bluebonnets, Indian Paint brushes and Indian Blankets are our favorite.

The tulips are lovely but I think you'd do much better with a solid texture background to make them scream out.   Posted: 05/13/2022 20:42:28

The beautiful tulips are nicely focused and framed. I agree that a solid background would enhance the effect. Given that you photographed them where they were in the room, I think the only problem with the background is the fact that it is noticeable where the background was cloned in on the upper right and lower left.   Posted: 05/20/2022 10:15:19

Great color and composition. The background is a bit too bright for my tastes and adding a blur would focus the eye on the flower. Definitely a great shot to usher in spring.   Posted: 05/21/2022 10:50:58

The composition and angle is perfect. A simple background would make the flowers really stand out as noted previously.   Posted: 05/22/2022 15:28:44
