September 2021 - Pond Reflections

About the Image(s)

I was out for my morning walk with my camera & zoom lens hoping to see the resident osprey that dives for fish at the neighborhood pond. Didn’t see the osprey but was delighted to see this reflection and the clouds were awesome.

Composition, colors, and sharpness are very good. Not only are the reflections sharp, but the detail in the wood on the building is well defined. Also you have 3 birds on the power lines. The scene is peaceful and would make a nice image for a wall....   Posted: 09/14/2021 12:04:20

I really appreciate the peacefulness of this scene. My first thought was that the power lines were a bit distracting. But now that Ruth has pointed out the birds, I wouldn't change a thing. The birds connect the viewer with the two birdhouses, and give the photo a very cohesive feel. I also really like the clouds.   Posted: 09/14/2021 19:44:04

I like the composition, lighting, and colors. The image seem a little flat to me so I would add some contrast. I also would crop of a bit of the bottom, so the edge of the pond comes out of the lower left corner. I would remove power lines, they are a greater distraction than the three little birds since they are so small. (Full disclosure, I hate power lines).   Posted: 09/17/2021 09:58:11
