Tam, welcome to Digital Dialogue #24. You have a lovely subject and presented her elegantly. the variety of sun highlights through the arch and above the arch is very complimentary to your lady.
I notice that the sharpest focus is on the rocks of the arch, which is fine when photographing women to soften the complexion. If the subject was an old man, I would want to see the sharp details of the face. Jim (admin)   Posted: 07/13/2021 15:58:09

Tam I like this photo. The arch is acting like a frame to the photo. You have selected a good aperture to make the far away background blur.
I agree with Jim that the focus point is not the face of the person. Other than that the photo is looks good.   Posted: 07/14/2021 04:44:51

Welcome, Tam. You ad I are close in age. I live in New England--Massachusetts and Maine.
I think you have created a magical photograph. The contrast between the white of a very graceful woman against a sharply focused rough and solid tree and a distant impenetrable background works well to make this photograph interesting and beautiful The two orange flowers in the upper left add interest without distracting. The photograph is essentially monochromatic--Green. Why don't you experiment with a B&W conversion that would emphasize the forms, light and textures of the park and the woman's dress.   Posted: 07/14/2021 09:50:05

Hi Tam
Beautiful setting and so well composed to me the picture is beautifully put together my only thought is the greenery in the centre of the image is in direct sunlight and very bright and keeps taking my eye from the lovely lady I would just darken that area a little otherwise a great image.   Posted: 07/14/2021 16:00:50

Hi Tam. Welcome to the group. My first impression is one of calmness. It is a lovely image that is peaceful. That most likely has to do with the varied hues of green throughout the image. Just as Ian did, I noticed that the subject of off-center and in the shade, while the center of the image is brighter. The brighter areas will draw the attention away from your intended subject.   Posted: 07/15/2021 12:47:19

I also agree that you captured a lovely image and framed it well. Since it appears that the source of light is coming from in front of the woman (as evidenced by the light on her dress and the ground), you might consider adding just a touch of light to the woman's face to draw the eye to it.   Posted: 07/22/2021 11:39:19
