About the Image(s)
I came upon these little doors while taking an evening walk around an older historic section of Lisbon, Portugal Sept 2022. The sky was fairly bright and completely blown out with the exposure needed for the building. Post processing involved a sky replacement with one from my library of skies that I've shot over the years. The exposure was 0.5 sec, no tripod (image stabilized lens seems to work well!). f/7.1, ISO 800, 24mm.

I especially like the composition of threes and the yellow light really makes it special. The ominous sky adds a lot. I would like to not see the satellite dishes as they distract from the rustic, old world look. Love the title! Very nice.   Posted: 05/02/2023 10:41:05
Thank you. I had considered the removal of the dishes and antennae from the roof line and may do so if I enter in competition (not in the category of travel). Another interesting thing is the photo of a person upper left on wall. Apparently, in this neighborhood they honor some of the deceased residents with photos.   Posted: 05/02/2023 13:23:02
Interesting image. I love the replaced sky, and have done so myself many times...but, one has to be careful not to enter them in a division that prohibits any alteration, such as Travel, Nature and PJ... In Pictorial or Color divisions anything and everything is allowed...   Posted: 05/14/2023 16:31:59
Thanks. As you point out, sky replacement is permitted in the PSA domain as long as the replacement is from one of your photos and the image is not entered in one of the three reality divisions. There's an interesting editorial in the May 2023 PAS Journal dealing with ethical photography.   Posted: 05/20/2023 20:37:09
