About the Image(s)

The image that I'm posting this month is a scene of a notable landmark in Paris that is a composite of two shots that I took last October at around 10:30 PM. The building is a notable landmark in Paris - Les Invalides (Napoleon's 20 ft tall sarcophagus is located under the dome). The two originals are also included. I decided on monochrome for this night scene. The scene is obviously an imaginary scene and is another aspect of photographic creativity which is the current topic for our bulletin board discussion.

Tech details: shots using a small tripod f/16, 10 sec exposure, ISO 500, 34 mm FL Post production was done using Affinity Photo.

Wow! Great job in combining the two photos. Good leading line to the building and good contrast between the black and white. I have to try it on some of my photos to add interest.   Posted: 06/14/2022 18:28:38

Yes, very impressive the way you merged the photos. Very Believable for an imaginary city. very realistic.   Posted: 06/14/2022 23:15:23

Yo have done well to merge these two images, and it works well as a Mono. Yo might consider straightening the building -it seems a little tilted. On your original 2, the streaks of light on the road end somewhat abruptly, and it looks odd on both the original and the composite. I don't know what you can do about it, but you might give it some thought.   Posted: 06/29/2022 11:13:12
