June 2022 - Russian Thistles

About the Image(s)

Here is one of my favorite colorful wildflowers, the Russian Thistle, which blooms in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California, and many other parts of the state, as well as in other states...

To get this photo I had a friend hold my large round shade over the flower as it was in full sun... This was taken with my Panasonic Lumix SZ40 camera, which is an excellent camera to use... It has a macro to 2 inches!!! I no longer have or use my Nikon SLR equipment as it became too heavy to hold...so, this point and shoot camera is all I have, and it goes everywhere with me in my purse to use at any given moment....

Beautiful flower and well captured. Very sharp. I love the image and would not change anything. Well seen. Good job.   Posted: 06/14/2022 18:33:04

Lovely rich color. Really shows that the diffuser blocking the harsh light allows for the brilliance of color to show.
Very lovely capture.   Posted: 06/14/2022 23:40:13

Great image -well captured. Do the two flowers compete with each other? Would just the front one make a more effective image   Posted: 06/29/2022 11:21:58
