About the Image(s)

This photo is quite different for me, but the result of a fun workshop held by one of my photography club groups on creativity. We set up different stations with various items to be photographed. The direction was to use Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) and long exposures to create creative images. I actually had so many good images that it was hard to pick a favorite. There is no post processing except cropping. This was a large bow made out of different colored ribbons. This image was created using long exposure and circular movements with the camera. Other techniques were moving the camera up and down, left and right and zooming in and out with the lens or or moving away from or closer to the object while the photo is being taken with a longer exposure. Interesting artistic abstracts are the result

Yes! I recently watched a couple of YouTubes on this very subject, both were related to outdoor shots. I like your image and I see possibilities of using it also as an overlay with other photos.   Posted: 06/06/2022 08:56:51

It is something I have to try. Very interesting pattern that you captured with the camera. Good job!   Posted: 06/14/2022 18:30:43

Cool, you did a great job. Our club had a 10-day challenge to create an ICM image for each day. the first three days were difficult to get the feeling for the right or reasonable movement but by the end it was a fun challenge.   Posted: 06/14/2022 23:36:08

I sort of got into trouble with Bob last month when I queried whether his image could "stand alone" as an image. I feel the same about this - it is an interesting pattern, but what are you going to do with it? As an image it has no real centre of interest, but it would make an excellent texture/background by introducing another element to provide a centre of interest.
We tried ICM in our club and I was not very good at it!   Posted: 06/29/2022 11:19:20
