About the Image(s)

This is really one from the archives! Back in 2006 we went to Antarctica. On the way there and back we spent a few days in Buenos Aires. Took this image in a park. Since then the image has languished untouched, Lockdown forced me to re-examine some of my images. Cropped image, rotated, and played around with various Topaz filters. Was it worth it?

Canon EOS 350D lens 28-300 at 100mm

The soft pastel effect works and reminds me of the type of image found in in hotels and public palaces. If it was grouped with 1-2 others of similar subject and style.

This is tough because I like both of them. I really like the textures and colors in the original photograph as well as the flower set against the geometric background. I also like the version with an artistic filter. It looks like an oil painting. They are very different and both are very nice.   Posted: 12/09/2021 11:14:53

I thought the original was too cluttered, and it needed tidying up.   Posted: 12/09/2021 11:24:12

I liked both of them and I tried different effects. Wound up with this. Not sure I like it.   Posted: 12/12/2021 16:15:59

Think you still need to do some more "cleaning up" with the long brown stems, etc. I do like what you did, but do a bit more and clean it up...   Posted: 12/28/2021 15:43:23
