A Bird's Eye View by Julia Parrish

October 2021 - A Bird's Eye View

About the Image(s)

This was taken several weeks ago when there were lots of birds in a bottle brush plant in our local butterfly garden. I was not able to identify the bird on any of my apps, but I liked his look and his color next to the bright red of the flower. I also like the white sky in the background giving it a high key effect. I went back a week later and there were no birds and no red flowers left either.

Great catch with bottle brush flower. Is there more of the lower stem you could move the bird a bit higher and or off set him just a little. a background that suggests show white with grey textured or white cloud would make great Christmas card.   Posted: 10/09/2021 08:59:15

No, I had really zoomed in on him. Interesting that you are now the 3rd person suggesting this for my Christmas card. I think I will use it for this year's card - and love the suggestion of adding some clouds or texture. Thanks!   Posted: 10/09/2021 09:43:24

Strong, sharp image. The bright red color brings the viewer in for a closer look.   Posted: 10/10/2021 06:24:40

It would make a beautiful Christmas card with perhaps some sky replacement. Tact sharp and beautiful bird!   Posted: 10/19/2021 12:56:28

Great capture. I would also try a sky replacement. Great Christmas card.   Posted: 10/22/2021 18:12:25

If you have any more of the branch, it would help, as the tail is too near the bottom, or crop the top of the image to make the bird more central. Nice image, well caught. I agree that you need to do something about the background - the white is very glaring.   Posted: 10/30/2021 09:52:29
