Cut logs salvaged from the Creek fire one year ago....

Many of the trees that were destroyed in the fire were salvageable for use in lumber, etc. while others were left standing or to lie on the ground to slowly dissolve as nature plans.. In this scene along highway 68 below Shaver, a number of logs were stacked ready to be hauled to a mill to be cut up into lumber, etc. The weather was perfect with some dark stormy clouds in the background.

I like knowing the story behind this photo. It explains the trees still standing that barely survived the fire. The clouds show a storm coming, but the sky looks like smoke to me - very emotional photo when you know the story.   Posted: 10/08/2021 19:26:07
