About the Image(s)

I was walking along a “street” in a little town in Far West Texas when I found this dilapidated old house. What struck me as funny was the lock on the door, when obviously there was barely a door there. I’m sure the danger of stepping on a rattlesnake was enough of a deterrent to keep anyone from venturing through the cactus and inside. Minor cropping and adjustments in Lightroom.

You are probably right about the rattlesnakes guarding the hen house here and I see what you mean about the misplaced lock. It's too bad there wasn't a little more wood left in that doorway so that you could have cropped this down and made the door the subject. As it is, I might suggest enhancing the color overall to bring out the green in the cactus and maybe some of the graying of the wood.   Posted: 08/03/2022 15:08:12

Mike, it appears that you have stumbled on a goldmine of pictures. I see your intent and I like what I see. Apart from the condition you described, you have so much to choose from, the lock, the twigs with the cactus, the texture, the knots in the wood and there must be so many other interesting images around the house. Go back and get more.   Posted: 08/04/2022 12:19:31
